Father in Heaven,
Holy are you, Lord God Almighty, for you alone are worthy of all glory, honor and praise.
Is it possible that we have become so familiar and comfortable with You that we have lost the sense of awe even at the merest mention of You? Forgive us, Lord, for bringing You down to the level of being our best buddy, rather than falling on our faces before You, trembling before the awesome God and Lord of the universe. Forgive us, Lord, for seeing You as the kind and gentle old grandfather, dispensing grace, mercy, and forgiveness whenever we happen to feel guilty over something, rather than the Righteous Judge before Whom we could not stand if it weren't for the sacrifice You Yourself made. Lord, we repent of the cavalier attitude we have had toward You. Open our eyes, our minds, and our hearts, and give us a fresh vision of the truly awesome, glorious, and magnificent God that You are.
Hear our prayers, Lord, in the precious name of your Son, our Lord and Savior,
