Psalm 4:3

Know that the Lord set apart the faithful for Himself; the Lord hears when I call to Him.
Psalm 4:3 Modern English Version (MEV)

So, who doesn't like to be treated as if they're special or, even better, because they are special. In God's eyes, those of us who have Christ living in us ARE special. Because we have Christ in us, we are like him and that is something special any way you look at it. God sees beyond our sins, our frailties, our failures, and sees himself reflected in us. The key to all this, the key to our being special, is God, not us. As soon as we begin thinking it has anything to do with us, we begin to tarnish what God saw as special.

It’s easy for many of us to forget, at times, that we are not the center of the universe. We don’t even register as a tiny dust mote in a far, remote corner. God chose to cast his gaze upon us, not because of who we are, but because of who he is. His universe, his choice. Our part is to believe, trust and have faith. God will take care of the rest.
