Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:3, Modern English Version (MEV)
It doesn't matter whether we have theological and doctrinal disagreements with other Christians. Our dealings with others should always be on the basis of love and respect, desiring God's grace and peace into their lives. And therein lies the key. We seem to have fallen into the idea (error) that it is somehow our grace and peace we are being asked to grant people. This, obviously, couldn’t be further from the truth. It is first, and always, God’s grace and peace we speak into people’s lives. What we may personally think, or feel, about any given person, or any given situation, has no bearing whatsoever. God doesn’t ask for our permission, or our agreement, or our blessing in the matter. He freely gives and he fully expects us to pass it on freely.
