The study of Proverbs has nothing to do with teaching us a bunch of rules, or even a bunch of cutesy sayings that we can quote for whatever occasion that may arise. The purpose for studying Proverbs is to help us to learn to use wisdom in making our own decisions about a particular matter that has come up.
